Early Work

I began my photographic practice in the early 1980’s, when I bought a camera to make reference images for my figurative oil paintings. I was intrigued by magic of capturing the images and watching the images emerge in the darkroom. Missing the sensuality and hands-on process of painting, I created delicate layers of oil paint to enhance the images and to make each a unique work. I continued to work in this process into the early ‘90s, also working in Polaroid Transfers.
